Boardsailing In The Philippines

The Philippines is the kind of destination board-sailors dream about. When the north-east monsoon- called the amihan by the locals- blows in, it brings clear, blue skies, warm weather and steady winds of 15-25 knots. All through the 7107 tropical islands that make up this country, the amihan rustles coconut palms lining pure, white-sand beaches and create small caps on the crystal-clear waters of countless lagoons.

If your idea of great sailing is to hook in, sheet in and plane effortlessly along a spectacular coastline, you can't do much better than the top board-sailing areas in the Philippines.

Add to that the number of those areas that lie abeam holiday resort areas that have a great choice of accommodation  from luxurious to extremely affordable- lively night life and easy access, and the Philippines emerges as a prime board-sailing holiday destination.

Although the sport is still in its infancy here, already a number of places are well set up fpr boardsailing enthusiasts and more are on the way. There is also a small but thriving local board sailing scene and one of the best amateur board-sailing events in Asia.
